Sadly Acoustic Junction is no more - thier last official performance was 9/3/00. Reed Foehl singer/song writer is out on his own and tours regularly. Curtis Thompson, bass player, has formed a new band called Kulica. Kulica plays gigs in and around Humbolt. Tom Diehl, drummer, now plays for Spooky Daly Pride. Tim Roper, fiddle harmonica and key, plays for a bluegrass band called the Centre Streeters.

*To my knowledge this band is defuct and has been for a while now. The singer now fronts a band called "the START"

Moderator: Charlie, Oakland CA- Tom, do you object to people bootlegging your work and circulating it as MP3's?

Tom_Morello: I have no objection to people listening to Rage Against the Machine music for free. I'm not that familiar with MP3, but some friends have run off some great bootleg albums for me which I enjoy. When a shadow company takes the reigns though, and is profiting at the expense of the band and their fans, that's when I have a problem with it.

Later in the same chat, Tom Morello acknowledged the existence of bootleg recordings in the following Q/A:

Moderator: Q. Will you be releasing any more live albums in the future?

Tom_Morello: Well, we haven't released any live albums yet. Any live recordings out there are strictly bootlegs. We have recorded hundreds of shows over the last 6 years, and one day some of those live recordings will probably see the light of day.

Furthermore, in an article eulogizing Joe Strummer of the Clash on the official Audioslave (note: Audioslave is a band consisting of 3/4ths of the band members of Rage Against The Machine, including Morello) website (http://www.audioslave.com/tomessay.html), Tom Morello conveyed his positive attitude towards bootlegs, stating:

On the early Rage Against the Machine tours, Clash tapes and bootlegs were always the most important part of my on-the-road music collection. They were a tremendous inspiration and consolation on those long, freezing European bus rides.

Funny thing is that some time after this policy was put into effect their fan base started eroding and they finally disbanded in 2001.

The lesson is when you are a struggling band, its better to allow fan taping and keep your music alive and circulating rather than shut the fan off and alienate your core fan base.

i got to talk to elliott's dad. while we were talking, we talked about sharing/trading elliott's music and he thought it was important to mention it was ok to share or trade elliott's music because elliott believed people should be able to trade musically with each other and that the family feels the same.
